EDMONTON — FC Edmonton winger Dustin Corea has been called to the El Salvador National Team ahead of Sunday’s friendly against Canada at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.
The 25-year-old has made 20 international appearances with El Salvador since his first cap in 2013, scoring one goal that came against Costa Rica in a 1-1 draw at the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Corea’s last international appearance for El Salvador came back in January of 2016 against Armenia, ending in a 4-0 loss at the StubHub Center in Carson, Cali.
The call-up follows a strong showing from the Milwaukie, Ore. product in the North American Soccer League (NASL) this season, scoring six goals and providing four assists in 21 appearances for the Eddies in 2017.
